EFB Sim Settings Explained

We have a whole host of settings you can adjust. This article will explain what each option does.

Use Airline Settings:

Currently, the livery settings are applied, and then your saved defaults are applied on top. There isn't per aircraft handling otherwise if you set a default unit then it's implied you want the unit as a global default. If you want the specific livery settings then you'll need to click  'Use Airline Settings' and then tweak any other settings back to the ones you want.

Save Default:

This will save any options you have changed and apply them on top of the livery config.

Airframe:

DDRMI:

Activates the Digital Distance Radio Magnetic Indicator above the left DCDU.

STANDBY:

Swap between the Integrated Standby Instrument System (ISIS) or the analogue 3 pack.

METRIC STANDBY ALT:

Activates the metric altitude indicator.

CABIN READY:

Toggle the Cabin Ready memo.

BRAKE FANS:

Toggle the brake fans push button and the fans on the model.

DCDU:

Show or hide the Datalink Ctl and Display Unit (DCDU)

SATCOM ANTENNA:

3 different options.

None: To show no antenna.

European: Show the European model.

American: Show the American model.

Airline Modifiable Information:

FLS:

Turn on the FMS Landing System.

TCAP (TCAS Autopilot):

Gives users the ability to turn on the AP/FD TCAS mode. This is a vertical guidance mode built into the Auto Flight computer. It controls the vertical speed (V/S) of the aircraft on a vertical speed target adapted to each RA, which is acquired from TCAS. With the Auto Pilot engaged, it allows the pilot to fly the TCAS RA manoeuvre automatically.

L/DEV:

Enables the lateral deviation scale at the bottom of the PFD for non precision approaches.

AC ESS AUTO SWITCHING:

Enables the aircraft to auto switch the AC Essential bus from AC1 to AC2.

Y HYD STEERING:

Toggle between steering being powered by either the Yellow (Option turned on - newer aircraft) or Green system (option off - older aircraft).

NAV IN GO AROUND:

Enables the aircraft to enable Nav mode on a go around automatically.

ACC HEIGHT (AGL):

Toggle between 1000ft and 1500ft acceleration altitude.

DAID (Dual Advisory Ice Detection):

Enables the ice detection probe which will give ECAM warnings if icing is detected.

EFB MOUNT:

Toggle between having the EFB mounted on the window or the frame. Frame mounting allows the use of the sunblind.

Cabin:

CABIN LIGHTS:

Enable or disable the lights in the cabin. These will now automatically dim in sync with the cabin announcements.

CABIN VISIBILITY:

Enable or disable the virtual cabin.

Controls:

SDS:

SDS is Sidestick Damping Simulation. SDS includes a reactivity and damping simulation to emulate the dynamics of the real sidestick and to translate those as best as possible to your home joystick. The real sidestick is a heavily damped and incredibly sturdy unit. It would be impossible to recreate fully the dynamics of this using a home desktop joystick, but SDS aims to bring it slightly closer. Opinions will vary, hence this is turned OFF by default. If OFF, it has no effect and aircraft handling will be the same as pre-update.

Rudder Damping:

This can be used with linear rudder sensitivity, followed by adjusting the sensitivity per your preferences. If you do not use the rudder damping option, we recommend a minimum sensitivity of -40%.

Control Position:

Which position in the flight deck that the sidestick will move. Left for Captain, Right for First Officer.

EFIS Baro CTL:

Used for linking the Baro/altimeters. Can switch between Independent, Linked - which links both PFDs and the standby or Link L+R which just links both PFDs and leaves the standby independent.

Auto Door Simulation:

Enable to have the doors automatically open when required. This is disabled when using the GSX integration.

Auto Jetway Simulation:

Enable to have the jetway automatically dock and undock. This is disabled when using the GSX integration.

Incremental Thrust Handling:

Typically used for controller/gamepads to have the thrust levers not jump through the detents.

Scrolling Acceleration:

Used to dictate how fast the knob scrolling for the FCU (incl EFIS BARO), RMP, clock & standby baro. When using hardware like miniFCU, the acceleration can be undesired, so this option allows you to turn it off.

RA Callouts:

Can toggle the various Radio Altimeter callouts.

Units:

DISTANCE:

Toggle between Meters and feet units in both the EFB and MCDU.

PRESSURE:

Toggle between hectopascal and inches in the EFB performance apps.

WEIGHT:

Toggle between Kilograms and Pounds in both the EFB and MCDU.

GSX:

See the GSX Integration KB article for full information on these options.

Cabin Announcements:

ENABLED: Enable or disable the cabin announcements.

MUTE ON TASK SWITCH: Enabling this will mute the cabin announcements when MSFS isn't in focus.
